Fed: Rent hikes to hurt many phone users: consumer advocates

A consumer group has slammed Telstra's line rental charge increases announced today,
saying they will hit many consumers hard.

Australian Telecommunications Users Group says Telstra is treating its customers with
disdain and has failed to adequately balance line price hikes with cuts in call charges.

The group's managing director ALLAN HORSLEY says he suspects that most people will pay more.
