NSW: Former TV presenter planted bomb over debt, court told
A Sydney court's been told a former television presenter admitted to a friend he planted a
bomb which seriously injured a personal fitness trainer because he was owed money.
29-year-old ROBERTO SAENZ DE HEREDIA, a former presenter on the Television Shopping
Network, is accused of attempted murder and placing or throwing an explosive device.
LEE STOLZENHEIN has told Manly Local Court DE HEREDIA told him a number of times before the
incident of plans to plant a bomb because BRETT BOYD owed him a large sum of money.
Mr BOYD, a 28-year-old former model, was thrown eight metres over his car after picking up
the bomb outside his Belrose home in June last year.
He lost his left eye and right thumb in the blast, and now has facial scars and partial
deafness.
DE HEREDIA, of Morgan St, Botany, has not entered a plea.
The committal hearing before Magistrate GRAEME HENSEN is continuing.
DE HEREDIA'S brother PEDRO has also been charged with concealing a serious offence.
He also has not entered a plea.
